The name of the place is Old grouch, but the owners of this eatery are anything but. The burgers are great and the service is even better. Yes they take their time bringing you the food, but hey, its home cooked and its mainly the senior couple that do all the work. Its a cozy home-like environment with a nostalgic feel (lots of Elvis memorabilia and classic decor). And the prices are pretty competitive as well.
Great little cafe, don't let the look put you off, staff were very helpful.
This was very disappointing. The moment we went here it had a 4.2 star on Maps (july 2018).Opening the door was already a challenge with a metal bar instead of a normal handle.Inside it looked like an old house livingroom. Everything looked very shabby and the service was less then i get when i go to friends to eat.The chicken burger was not really tasty, the fries were very soft instead of firm.This is really the first time ever i was not giving a tip.
The entire restaurant, the staff, the food, everything looks and feels and tastes like you've stopped in to a friend's place for dinner. It tastes homemade, it looks homemade and not restaurant presentable so it's really confusing but really tasty and really weird. Incredibly friendly waitress who probably also owns the place. Great place to stop in for a home cooked meal that you didn't cook at home.
Anything but Grouchy, the wonderful old couple who cook and serve the equally amazing food greeted us with warm smiles and welcoming words. We had the bologna sandwich special (on their fresh-baked bread that morning) and absolutely divine tomato-noodle soup. All for a reasonable price. We will make sure to stop here whenever we are through Drumheller again. You should stop here too!
